Accounting Firm on the Web?
Yesterday, we made a comprehensive presentation to one of the State's leading accounting firms that it consider ratcheting up the quality of its website-- build its brand in a serious and committed, way, demonstrate its leadership within the industry, and take advantage of the business-buildling capacities latent in the rise of video and social media. A decision is expected shortly.

Congess- Please Lead by Example

How about each member of Congress be required to pay back before he/she leaves office an amount of money equal to what each  man, woman and child owes the US Government, or, roughly $100,000, as I understand it. Such a requirement will help fix the Big-Spendin' Blues.

Head's Up to Congress
Put the country first, not you, your party, your financial supporters or your vested interests. Get the "Greater Good" back into the nation's ability to solve problems effectively. This is why you were elected.

Mr. President
I am not familiar with lobbyists or lobbying, and have no direct experience with "special interest groups." However, I do know a little about gardening. To make a garden successful, you have to periodically turn over the land. If you don't, the earth will not produce, and will expire. You have to prepare the soil. If you don't, the seeds may not take. Then, you have to plant the seeds. Without seeds, what's the point? After the seeds take root, one must weed the garden. If you don't, the weeds will choke the garden. You have to kill or throw out garden pests. If you don't, they will eat everything in sight and you will starve. You have to cultivate the garden. If you don't, the same ornery critters will be back. You have to water the garden. If you don't, the plants will shrink and die. You have to provide sunlight to the garden. If you don't, there will be no essential biochemical reactions and you will harvest little or nothing. This involves a lot of work, no short cuts and a high degree of integrity.

Dead Cash Flow, Dead Momentum
In speaking with small business owners, most especially in the arts, it is easy to believe a) the general economic pall is worse than anyone knows b) small business has the most difficult burden-- no bailouts plus added costs to be expected and c) rebuilding our industrial base is proceding at a snail's pace if at all. Perhaps "Labor Day" will mark an uptick in our recovery momentum. At present, feels somewhat like swimming in the ocean on a beautiful summer day laden by a 100 lb. concrete block suspended from my neck.  Congress, what about small business?

Manufacture in USA, NOW
In one week, I have discussed with two small company owners, how they are currently designing, engineering, and manufacturing right here in the USA-- new products scheduled to hit the market in the next 5 years. One company makes advanced lighting devices. The other makes advanced medical devices. This is the way we ought to go. Bring back the Golden Goose, fire those CEOs and MBAs who insist on bankrupting our children.
